Campaigns & Elections Hires New Publisher, Promotes Editor

Plainsboro, NJ: Campaigns & Elections, the nation’s leading magazine for political professionals, is pleased to announce that James O’Brien will join the staff as Publisher and that Dr. Costas Panagopoulos has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief, effective immediately.

Panagopoulos, a nationally known political commentator and campaign expert, is also Assistant Professor of Political Science at Fordham University, where he founded and directs the Master’s program in Elections and Campaign Management and the Center for Electoral Politics and Democracy.

James O’Brien joins Campaigns & Elections from Bigwidesky, Inc., where he was partner. He will oversee sales and marketing operations at C&E. O’Brien brings a strong record of leadership as a sales and marketing executive, agency owner, and political consultant to C&E. He is an internationally recognized leader in the field of e-mail marketing compliance and has served as a consultant to over 200 political campaigns. O’Brien was previously Senior Director of Public Relations and Advocacy at Intellisphere, LLC, which, along with Political World Communications, Campaigns & Elections’sparent company, is owned by MJH & Associates.  He has also been Director of Marketing at LashBack Inc. and at PointRoll Inc. In 1996, O’Brien founded Impact Strategies and served as President and CEO until 2002.
